Survival figures following the treatment of brain tumours continue to improve. Patients receiving cranial radiotherapy (XRT) frequently suffer a progressive loss of anterior pituitary function secondary to radiation damage to the hypothalamic pituitary axis (HPA), therefore long-term follow up is required.
